Growing up on the border of a beautiful state forest was always going to establish a lasting connection between me
and the natural world. Most of my afternoons were spent exploring the seemingly endless Australian bush
that was right on my doorstep.
My love of nature was only expanded even further the first time I went scuba diving and from there a career
flourished that took me on some incredible adventures that will be forever cherished.
Unfortunately, a devastating back injury took from me my ability to follow that dream and a decade of
immense difficulties but also incredible self-discovery has followed.
Drive and ambition found me running my own business in Colombia, a place of such immense beauty,
even years there gave me but a glimpse of what it had to offer.
While my life seemed destined to carry on there, the unforeseeable circumstances of
the pandemic brought me back to another decisive moment to choose a new path.
This presented an opportunity for me to move into an exciting new chapter and pursue my love of nature
by aiming to commit myself to healing the earth as much as I can.
I grew up in the North of England, in a quiet town in Yorkshire, surrounded by farmland.
As a young, adventurous soul, I would be out with friends from dusk til’ dawn exploring.
My strong love of nature truly developed when I first began solo travelling. I was sitting in Madrid in the middle of summer and I was in awe at the beauty of Parque Del Retiro. I would meet with friends under the same tree, in this beautiful park every day. We needed or wanted nothing more other than the profound excellence and preserved beauty of this environment (and of course great company!).
Moments like this don’t come around too often and it genuinely taught me that we don’t need a lot to be happy, less is more.
I travelled the world as a teacher, taking me all over Europe & even as Far East as Hong Kong. Then I started my own business, where our ethos is ‘Inspire, Educate & Communicate.
I met Kit in Bali, where he first told me about the One World and immediately I was really impressed. I thought, if everyone knew how simple, easy and cost-effective it was to be making a significantly more positive environmental impact, surely people would be doing a lot more.
Not only can we replenish and restore natural habitats, but we can simultaneously provide employment for the workers planting the trees?
It was a no-brainer for me, I planted some trees and I felt great. Not only had I just planted some trees, subsequently offsetting some of my personal carbon footprint, but I have supported the growth of poverty-stricken communities.
I want to share this incredibly fulfilling feeling with others and continue to strive towards developing one world where we can all thrive, animals, humans and nature included.
